From here there are spectacular views looking back down Longdendale. Across Salters Brook, climb steeply to Windle Ed ge where a plinth marks the highest point on the whole Trans Pennine Trail (1,427 feet). A fast road descent brings you to the tiny settlement of Dunford Bridge and its welcome pub where you can refuel before your return journey.
