Water-based products are quick drying, easy to use, low odour, environmentally friendly, non-yellowing, and you can wash your brush in water. Polyurethane and solvent-based products take 16-24 hours to dry, have a strong smell, have high VOCs (volatile organic compounds), need white spirit to clean up with, and can yellow with age.
